GALE-KON HAS ITS LOCATION!!!!!!!!
I recived the call
moments ago about the confirmation of the convention location. It will
be partially held at the Sandburg Mall, located in Galesburg Il. Because
of the lacking economy, several of the business buildings of the mall
are now vacant, bustleing with space, and are ours for the picking. We
now have to set up a block with the local hotel across the street and
get this Kon ball rolling.

Well after attending the Japanese festival in St Louis this
past weekend, I have time to update the Gale-Kon page.
I spoke with
the heads for Bishie Kon and Kawa Kon about acquiring a table for
Gale-Kon to advertise at Bishie Kon in November/09 . Katrina and her
husband also shared some helpful first year kon advice that was very
useful. We as the Kon are still awaiting several business in town for
replies and will keep you all posted.

Well the picnic was a blast and we had 25 people attend
the event. The day could have been warmer but it still turned out ok for
what it was.
Here is a list of what happened though:
12 Pizzas
destroyed
10 2ltrs of pop drank
6 hours of Naruto UN3 brawl
Sephy
made an Aerith out of 10 victems
30 minutes of constant
Caramelldansen to our 3 vict...ahem contestants.
I will be posting
the winners soon here as well as the location of the convention. We are
60% of the way done with the hunt for the convention location and may
have a definite spot in the next week.

I have been in contact with several business in the area and have some wonderful news. I talked to Pepperoni's Pizza and Casey's Party creations here in Galesburg about sponsorship. I will be discussing with them at a later time about advertisement in exchange for sponsorship as in selling pizza at site, magic/D&D supplies, and possible cash donations. Casey's all depends on the amount of people attending for donations, but could possibly help with card tournaments. But what Kon wouldn't be awesome without on site Pizza?
